Protection Ratings and Safety Standards

EN 388: Mechanical Resistance

  • EN 388: 4X43B

EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves' performance when used for protection against mechanical machinery by measuring the fabric's abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.

The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a glove in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.

Standard Resistance Rating
Abrasion Resistance Level 4
Cut Resistance N/A
Tear Resistance Level 4
Puncture Resistance Level 3
ISO Cut Resistance Level B

What's So Special About a Polyurethane Coating?

Polyurethane is an incredibly flexible coating which is beneficial because it preserves dexterity and accuracy in the fingers. A heavier glove does not allow a high degree of finger movement, thus reducing the users ability to perform precise and dexterous tasks when wearing it.

A polyurethane coating has a lightweight feel to it that moulds the glove to the natural contour of your hand.

Incredible Grip for Safe Handling

This incredibly grippy coating works tirelessly to absorb microscopic particles of grease, oil and moisture than linger on crates, boxes and product packaging. This helps promote a strong and stable grip that helps minimise the prevalence and frequency of slips, drops and accidents on the shipyard, factory and warehouse floor.

Ultra-Lightweight Design

Working with intricate material requires gloves that maximise the dexterity and accuracy in your fingertips. It's no good using heavyweight gloves that are full of padding when you're interacting with switchboards and making adjustments to engine parts.

MCR Lightweight Work Gloves use a 13 gauge liner which is incredible slender. This means your fingertips are protected without the need for baggy padding that can often weigh your hand down and prevent accurate interaction.

Maximum Tear and Abrasion Resistance

Built to last in fast-paced picking and packing environments, MCR Safety CT1007 Polyurethane Coated Gloves boast the maximum level 4 abrasion and tear resistance ratings under European standard EN 388. This polyurethane coated fabric is tough, resilient and highly resistant to wear and tear.

Seamless Design and Construction

A seamless design means less chance of rips, tears and split fabric ruining your gloves. MCR CT1007 Polyurethane Manual Handling Gloves are made with an incredibly flexible material that's perfect for fast-paced picking and packing environments where manual handling is non-stop!

Essential for Logistics and Manual Handling

MCR CT1007 Lightweight Work Gloves are one of our favourites for manual handling, logistics and shipping work.
