The Portwest BZ31 Navy Bizweld Flame Resistant Cargo Pants have been tested for compliance with a wide range of international arc flash protection standards. They comfortably shield the wearer from flames, heat and flash fires, whilst also remaining comfortable and practical for constant use.

What Can the Navy Bizweld Flame Resistant Cargo Pants Do for Me?

The trousers have several helpful features:

  • Arc Flash Protection: ARC2 arc flash protection rating, APTV of 11.2 cal/cm², attenuates 80.4% of resulting heat from an electric arc
  • Flame Resistance: Guaranteed resistance to radiant, convective and contact heat for life of garment, improved protection against molten metal with class 1 welding protection certification
  • Comfort: Elasticated waistband for comfort and ease of movement
  • Storage: Seven pockets for storage including concealed phone pocket and rule pocket

What Do These Certifications Mean?

  • EN 11612: This standard determines whether a garment offers protection against heat and flames, and whether this protection extends to convective, radiant or contact heat
  • ASTM F1959: This standard determines the arc rating of a garment, which is the amount of energy needed to pass through the fabric to cause a second or third degree burn
  • ASTM F1506: This standard demonstrates that the garment is suitable for use by electrical workers exposed to momentary electric arcs and related thermal hazards
  • NFPA 70E: This American standard indicates the garment protects against arc flashes
  • NFPA 2112: This American standard illustrates the garment protects against flash fires

The trousers meet various international arc flash protection standards, receiving an ARC2 rating and attenuating 80.4% of the heat resulting from an electrical arc. The trousers are also sufficient protection against radiant, convective and contact heat as well as flash fires. A certification of class 1 welding protection illustrates the cargo pants will effectively shield the wearer from splashes of molten metal.
