The EN ISO 20471 standard outlines the garment's level of visibility in poor lighting conditions. The garments are rated on proportions of reflective stripes, fluorescent materials and contrast materials. These trousers are class 2, and offer an intermediate level of visibility .

EN 343 - Wet Weather Protection

The EN 343 Standard outlines the garment's level of protection against wet weather. The garments are rated on their response to precipitation, fog and humidity, and then on their breathability under those conditions. The trousers have a 3:1 rating, meaning that they have the highest level of rain protection but is not classified as breathable under EN 343.

The EN 342 standard outlines the garment's protection against cold weather. Garments are rated on thermal resistance properties with motion, air permeability and water penetration properties. These trousers offer thermal resistance of 0.356 (M².K/W) and have a moderate rating for air permeability.

Storage and Convenience

The Portwest trousers can be worn as either a bib and braces or as trousers, depending on your requirements. The legs feature a side zip for easy access, and the crotch is gusseted to reduce inconvenient seam failure. In addition, the trousers feature 16 total pockets, including a rule pocket, knee pad pockets and zip-off holster pockets for convenient storage.
