The jacket is warm, comfortable and fully waterproof, as well as protecting from such hazards as light chemical sprays and small igniting flames.

The Portwest jacket conforms to three international visibility standards, and is suitable for performing high-risk work on roads and motorways. The jacket features inherent anti-static properties, and will withstand light sprays of harmful chemicals. The jacket has the maximum rating for waterproofing under EN 343, but is not classified as breathable by this standard.
