• EN ISO 20345:2011 S3 is a European standard that specifies the requirements for safety footwear: "S" stands for "safety" and indicates that the footwear provides basic toe protection. "3" refers to additional features including:

  • Fully closed heel with energy absorption
  • Anti-static properties
  • Resistance to fuel oil
  • Penetration resistance
  • Water resistance
  • Anti-slip outsoles

How Protective Are the Blackrock Sumatra Hiker Work Boots?

The Blackrock Sumatra Hiker Safety Boots feature a steel toecaps design, which allows the boots to withstand a pressure force of 200 joules. This means that a 20kg object falling from a height of 1 meter will not injure the feet wearing these EN 20345 certified boots. ​​Additionally, the boots also have pierce-resistant steel misole to protect against any sharp object which may penetrate below.

Waterproof Leather Upper

Keeping your feet dry in wet conditions the Sumatra Safety Boots feature a waterproof membrane carefully sewn into the upper. Whether you're working outside and it has started to pour down, or whether you're working in conditions where you may come into contact with water, the Sumatra boots promise full water-resistance to keep feet dry.
