An outstandingly practical garment, the Portwest BIZ4 Bizweld Overalls comply with a variety of safety standards whilst also featuring five pockets ideal for tool storage on-the-go. The overalls will effectively protect the wearer from molten metal, arc flashes and radiant, convective and contact heat.

What Can the Bizweld Overalls Do for Me?

The overalls have several helpful features. These include:

  • Flame Resistance: Protection from radiant, convective and contact heat for life of garment
  • Welding Protection: Class 1 welding protection and improved protection from molten iron under EN 11612
  • Arc Flash Protection: ARC2 arc flash protection, attenuates 80.4% of heat resulting from an electrical arc
  • Functional: Several large pockets for carrying tools, adjustable straps for wearer comfort and twin-stitched seams for durability

The flame resistant fabric Bizweld, from which the overalls are made, has been designed specifically with welding tasks in mind.

What Do These Certifications Mean?

  • EN 11612: This standard determines whether a garment offers protection against heat and flames, and whether this protection extends to convective, radiant or contact heat
  • ASTM F1959: This standard determines the arc rating of a garment, which is the amount of energy needed to pass through the fabric to cause a second or third degree burn
  • EN 11611: This standard shows whether an item of clothing is suitable for welding or similar tasks and will protect the wearer from heat and metal splashes

The Portwest overalls offer inherent protection from radiant, convective and contact heat and mid-level protection against molten iron under EN 11612. The bib and brace has been certified as providing class 1 welding protection, and has received an ARC2 arc flash rating, attenuating 80.4% of the heat resulting from an arc flash.
