JSP PU Foam Soundstopper Banded Ear Plugs (100 Pairs)
The reusable JSP PU Foam Soundstopper Banded Ear Plugs (100 Pairs) have a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 20, making them suitable for low level noise risks such as that experienced while operating machinery. The corded earplugs are self adjusting and will fit exactly to your ear canal for maximum noise protection and minimum pressure.
What Can the Ear Plugs Do for Me?
The ear plugs have several useful features. These include:
- Self Adjusting: Energy absorbing polymer foam will adjust to the exact dimensions of your ear canal to minimise pressure and discomfort
- Comfortable: Lightweight and adjustable for comfort during prolonged wear, foam is non-irritating
- Convenient: Reusable and washable for repeated use
- Attenuation: Offers good attenuation across all frequencies
Who Can Use the Soundstopper Ear Plugs?
The SNR rating of 20 demonstrates that they are suitable for handling low level noise risks. They are reusable and washable for repeated use and are designed to be worn with the band under the chin. Following is a list of hazards for which they are suitable protection:
- Engineering
- Factory work
- Industrial work
- Manufacturing
- Factory work
- Road works
- Plastering
- Plumbing
- Driving machinery
- Machine operator
Please note that one size of the ear plugs should fit most users.
What Is SNR?
SNR stands for signal-to-noise ratio, or sometimes simplified noise reduction, and can be used to compare the different level of noise attenuation offered by hearing protectors. To establish the acoustic pressure on your ears from a hazard subtract the SNR value from the average noise level measured. To avoid hearing damage this number must not go above 87dB.
What Certifications Have the Ear Plugs Received?
The ear plugs have undergone a variety of tests so you can be sure of your safety at work. They have achieved the following certifications:
- EN 352
- SNR: 20
- Low Frequency Noise: 13
- Medium Frequency Noise: 15
- High Frequency Noise: 25
What Do These Certifications Mean?
- EN 352: This standard specifies the requirements for ear defenders or ear plugs offering protection from excessive noises
The materials, inner leakage, minimum attenuation and several other factors of the ear plugs have been assessed and found to conform with the requirements for hearing protection. Their SNR rating of 20 illustrates that they are suitable for use in risk environments.
How Do I Fit the Ear Plugs?
To fit the ear plugs please first roll the plug between thumb and fingers until thin enough to insert into ear. Then insert in ear canal and wait for the plug to expand before entering the noise area. When you've removed the plug from your ear please dispose of it appropriately.
