What Do These Standards Mean?

These boots meet the requirements for S3 Safety Footwear. They also have WR and SRC safety ratings. Check out the below information for a breakdown of what these codes mean:

• EN ISO 20345:2011 S3 is a European standard that specifies the requirements for safety footwear: "S": Stands for "Safety" and indicates that the footwear provides basic toe protection. "3" refers to additional features including:

  • Antistatic properties
  • Energy absorption in the heel region
  • Resistance to water penetration
  • Resistance to penetration by sharp objects

• WR: WR stands for Water Resistant. Footwear given this safety rating has 'general water resistance', meaning they can be worn in both direct and indirect contact with water.
