What Is the Portwest 1 Point Comfort Harness For?
It is recommended that the Portwest 1 Point Harness is used as a work positioning system and as part of a fall arrest system. As it is a 1 point safety harness, it is extremely easy to use and well suited to beginners.

What Is Fall Arrest?
A Fall Arrest system will not stop you from falling. It is instead a system that ensures a fall is carried out in a safe and controlled manner. This enables a worker to carry out their job, while a body harness is connected to a suitable shock absorbing system.
This will not prevent free fall. You will still fall, however be caught by a fall arrest block, rope, a lanyard and your harness. Training MUST be provided, and an escape plan MUST be in place before an accident takes place.

How Do I Fit the Portwest 1 Point Comfort Harness
If you haven't had training in fall protection, then you need to receive the adequate training before you carry out this line of work. Instructions for the FP11 are as follows:
- Hold your harness up by the back dorsal D ring
- Place the harness over the shoulders in the same way you would wear a backpack
- Attach your chest and waist belt connections
- Reach underneath your legs, grab the leg straps, wrap them around each thigh and then attach to the connection points at the waist
- You should be able to place a flat hand between the strap and leg
- Tighten all straps to ensure a tight but comfortable fit
