The Portwest FR78 Bizflame Multi High-Vis Waterproof Trousers shield the wearer from a wide range of industrial hazards, including chemical sprays, molten metal and arc flashes. The trousers are designed with comfort in mind, earning high breathability and waterproof ratings, and featuring elasticated braces and waist.

What Can the Bizflame Multi High-Vis Waterproof Trousers Do for Me?

The trousers have several helpful features. These include:

  • Versatile Protection: Flame resistant, chemical-resistant, class 2 welding protection, ARC2 arc flash protection, inherent anti-static properties
  • Waterproof: Taped seams and waterproof fabric prevents water penetration while remaining breathable and wearable, FR cotton lining for extra warmth

  • EN 1149: This standard demonstrates whether a garment protects against electrostatic discharge in environments such as petrochemical refineries where there is a risk of explosion
  • EN ISO 20471: This standard certifies whether an item of clothing is capable of visually signalling the user's presence, and assesses the durability of the high-vis qualities of the garment
  • EN 13034: This standard refers to a garment's ability to protect against spatters from dangerous liquid chemicals
  • IEC 61482: This standard indicates the garment's ability to provide protection against the thermal hazards of an electrical arc
  • EN 343: This standard outlines the garment's level of protection against wet weather, the first class number referring to water resistance, the second referring to breathability

The trousers have been awarded class 2 welding protection, ARC2 arc flash protection and qualify as type 6 chemical protection, meaning that they will shield the wearer from light chemical sprays. The trousers are resistant to radiant and convective heat and will prevent static charge from accumulating around the garment. Not only have the trousers achieved the maximum rating for waterproof garments under EN 343, they have also achieved the maximum rating for breathability.
